I admit that I am scraping the bottom of the barrel with these, but I am still going for quantity at this point. I have two days left to get the last of the sketches scanned and posted, but I am relatively sure that I sketched each day in November, even while traveling. It has been fun and I plan to continue this good habit!
And while it is clear that I am new at character development, I have learned vast amounts of knowledge this year, as much as if I had gone to school somewhere. Self discovery, the quest for knowledge, and the passion to persist can take anyone as far as they are willing to go (and avoid student loans!).

Terrific, and I love your attitude!
Thanks Julie! You know how easy it is to stay in a funk about not being good enough. So I have been forcing myself to draw things I have always been shaky, even fearful of attempting. Starting in January, I am going to focus on non-organic. . . buildings, vehicles, etc. Yikes!
I will continue with more Copperfield sketches in January, but my challenge is backgrounds! Which of course often includes things like buildings and vehicles, so I getcha! I’ll be watching what you do!
Julie, we can tackle it together! I love having people to be accountable to. This is a piece I art directed and painted in 2011. The character was created by Rachel Willis, and the background was beautifully done by Jason Nelson. As much as I loved working with them as a team, I knew I was hiding from tackling characters and buildings myself. So I’ve put myself on a forced march this year with characters.
